“What do you buy a rosé lover?” sounds like it should be an easy question to answer, right? You buy a rosé lover some rosé wine.
Sure, but what kind of rosé wine?
“Wait, what?”, you say in this entirely hypothetical conversation with us.
Well, that’s the thing. There are many different kinds of rosé wines made from different grapes – all of which have their own tastes and textures from different regions of the world, let alone Australia. So, if you want to buy a rosé for a rosé lover, you have to pick one of the many rosés that are available.
Or do you? What if there was a way to get the perfect gift for a rosé lover without having to become an honourary wine connoisseur? What if there was a service that took care of that for you?
It’s us. Boxed and Found. We’re that service.
What do you buy a rosé wine lover…
… around Christmas time?
December really is one of the most wonderful times of the year, isn’t it? Not only does Australia get another beautiful summer, perfect for barbecues and get-togethers, but we also have the holidays!
Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or any other denominational holiday; you’re looking forward to getting together with your loved ones so you can celebrate everything that’s good in life.
So, why not cap things off with the Happy Holidays, Cheers to a New Year gift package? Nothing says celebration-of-everything-good like a gift box containing a festive fruity bottle of rosé wine.
… who just needs some love right now?
We all need a little love sometimes. With so many ways to show someone that we love them, why not use a rosé wine to give it that little extra oomph?
- Is it an important day for them? Acknowledge it with a With Love on Your Special Day gift package
- Do you want them to know they’re on your mind? Tell them with a Thinking of You gift package
- Or, just get straight to the point with a Love You package! Brevity is the soul of wit, after all
… on their birthday?
Another year, another birthday. Some people are more enthusiastic about their birthday than others, but who would say no to a birthday gift with a nice floral aroma and an eye-catching pink gradient hue?
- If you want your package to have a little love on the side, give them a Happy Birthday Beautiful package or the Happy Birthday to my Partner in Wine
… who just got their brand new home/car?
Milestones! Everyone loves a good milestone. Buying a new home, getting a new car – these aren’t exactly small things, and who doesn’t want to support their friends when they take a big step like this?
A So Proud Of You would suffice, surely; but nothing distracts from the ensuing mortgage payments like a Congratulations on Your New Home.
… who you want to give a massive thank you to?
There’s so much to be thankful for, isn’t there? Sometimes, someone does so much for you, that a card just isn’t enough to express your gratitude.
When you need to tell someone that you appreciate them, we have you covered with packages that say With Appreciation and a Big Thank You.
What to consider when buying rosé wine
Because there are so many different kinds of rosés, there are a few details to consider when you’re purchasing a rosé wine gift. Don’t worry, it’s not exactly mission critical that you know everything about rosé wine, to the point where you can start your own vineyard.
But, if you want to tailor your gift even further for that special someone, it certainly doesn’t hurt to know about the following points, y’know? That’s why we’re going to cover them in the section below.
The mouthfeel style of rosé wine
Mouthfeel is a wine term used to describe the sensation that wine creates in your mouth. It covers different aspects such as taste, body (i.e. alcohol content) and texture, all of which come together to create the feeling you get when wine touches your tongue and your palate.
Rosés tend to have the following characteristics:
- A smooth, velvety texture that perfectly works its way around your mouth
- Tastes that evoke a wide range of fruits – particularly berries, but also with occasional hints of citrus or even cream
- Bodies that range from;
- Less than or equal to 12.5% alcohol for light-bodied
- 12.5-13.5% alcohol for medium-bodied
- Equal to or higher than 13.5% for full-bodied
What foods you think they’ll have with rosé
It turns out that different rosés pair better with different kinds of foods. If you’re looking for the rosé wine to complement your meal perfectly, the general rule of thumb is that; the lighter the rosé, the lighter the meal. A Pinot Noir is going to fit better with charcuterie fare and light salads than a full on five-course feast.
Of course, this isn't compulsory. You’re going to enjoy your rosé wine, regardless of whether you pinpoint the perfect rosé style/meal combo.
